Our Story

Our story

I have run my own business for fifteen years. That is fifteen years of screens, and fifteen years of promising myself I would slow down after the next launch.

I wear lenses most days and glasses when my eyes have had enough. I train in the mornings because it is the only hour nobody can book. And for a long time I told myself that a routine for my own face was something other women had time for.

Then my eyes started sending the bill

Red by the middle of the afternoon. Sore by the evening. The cruellest part landed at night, when I was finally tired enough to sleep and my eyes were too wound up to let me.

I tried the obvious things. Drops. Blue light lenses. Going to bed earlier, which never once survived a real week.

What finally worked was heat and pressure

Ten minutes with warmth sitting over my eyes and something working slowly out across my temples, and the tension I had been carrying since nine in the morning finally let go.

My sleep changed before anything else did. I track it, and the numbers moved inside a fortnight. Falling asleep stopped being a negotiation I had with myself at midnight.

Then we spent a year getting it right

Most of what we tested was wrong. Some units heated so hard they were uncomfortable inside a minute. Others buzzed loudly enough that you noticed the motor more than the massage. On more than one sample the strap caught your hair every single time you took it off.

Inside the pads, and the fold we kept arguing about

The one we kept warms to 104°F, which is 40°C, roughly the temperature of a warm bath. Quiet enough to fall asleep through. A strap you adjust once and never think about again. Flat enough to live in a carry on, because the weeks that wreck your eyes are almost always the weeks you are travelling.

It works across the temples as well as the eyes. That was the part we nearly left out, and it turned out to be the part people tell their friends about.

Who I made it for

Women who hold the whole thing together and then get told to relax. Founders taking the last call at eleven. Anyone who gives all day and reaches the end of it with nothing left over for themselves.

Ten minutes is not a lot to ask for. It is just that nobody ever hands it to you.
